Hellebores and Ramsons

Hellebores, ramsons and railings, March 2015
It's a dull and chilly March day but there are signs of Spring growth in the garden. Lots of our hellebores are flowering or beginning to flower. The cream, the green (don't know the variety) and the white ones are particularly good.

Can't wait for the 'black' ones to catch up and fully flower. The green leaves are ramsons, or wild garlic, which will suddenly burst into growth and have beautiful white flowers. The slugs don't eat these - but we do!

In a month or so, the gaps amongst the hellebores will soon fill with herbaceous geraniums, dicentras, and peonies.
